After our introductory phone call, our first session will involve a more in-depth conversation about your objectives for therapy. In this initial session, we'll take the time to acquaint ourselves, explore your background and history, and collaboratively strategize on the path to help you achieve your goals.

In the short term, therapy becomes a sanctuary—a dedicated time and space to prioritize your emotional well-being and address the immediate challenges that have emerged in your life. It serves as a significant act of self-care, offering the invaluable opportunity to navigate pressing issues.
Furthermore, therapy equips you with a toolkit of strategies and skills that, when applied thoughtfully, can bring about impactful changes in your thought processes and ability to manage distressing emotions.
Looking towards the long term, the enduring benefits of therapy unfold through the cultivation of awareness around unhelpful patterns, their origins, and the journey toward adopting healthier approaches. This newfound insight empowers you to make informed choices and sustain emotional well-being, extending far beyond the conclusion of the therapeutic process.

It’s different for every client! Several factors, such as the nature of your concerns, your objectives, and your availability, play a role in determining the duration and frequency of treatment. Generally, therapy is best on a weekly basis, especially during the early stages of our work together. However, we can explore what works best with your schedule and goals for therapy and adjust the frequency as needed.

As a therapist, I understand and empathize that life is full of unpredictable twists and turns. If you need to cancel a session, I kindly ask that you reach out at least 24 hours prior to your session time. Cancellations without this notice will incur a missed appointment fee equivalent to 50% of your session fee.

Insurance
Out of network benefits:
To streamline administrative processes, uphold confidentiality, and navigate the limitations imposed by various insurance providers (such as session limits and required diagnoses), I operate as an out-of-network provider with most insurance plans. While this means I do not participate directly with insurance networks, you may still qualify for out-of-network mental health benefits. In such cases, I can provide you with a "superbill," a monthly payment statement, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Reimbursement percentages typically range from 30-100% of the session cost after meeting your out-of-network deductible.
To determine your out-of-network coverage, you may find it beneficial to contact your insurance and inquire about:
Inclusion of out-of-network mental health benefits in your plan.
Existence and amount of your out-of-network mental health deductible.
Percentage of your payment to the therapist that will be reimbursed.
Limits on the number of sessions permitted per calendar year.
Necessity for written approval from your primary care physician for coverage.
Why Opt for Out-of-Network Benefits?
Privacy: Your private therapy records remain confidential, and insurance companies don't have the same access as with in-network providers.
Expertise: You can select a therapist with specific skills and expertise tailored to your needs, whether it's couples therapy, PTSD, or persistent depression, without being restricted to network offerings.
Personalization: Unfettered by insurance restrictions, your therapist can provide highly personalized services, including solutions and therapies that may not be covered by insurance.
Flexibility: You and your therapist, not the insurance company, determine the frequency and duration of sessions. This flexibility allows for immediate access, accommodating your schedule without worrying about running out of sessions.
Access: Private pay therapists often have greater availability, allowing you to start therapy promptly and maintain consistent sessions, avoiding the challenges of finding an in-network therapist accepting new clients.
Sliding scale Rates
My intention is to ensure that my services are within reach for everyone. To achieve this, I maintain a few sliding scale appointment slots, aiming to alleviate the financial strain of therapy for those who require it. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me to inquire about the availability of a sliding scale slot. If none are currently open, I'm more than willing to add you to a waitlist and inform you promptly when the next available slot becomes accessible.
